Being so far from the rest of the world, it can be challenging for Kiwi bohemians to find the fashion gems we so desperately seek. Given this, it has become our mission to source unique and genuine, high-quality bohemian products from across the globe to share locally, and beyond.
When seeking out these products, we have very specific criteria that each product must meet to be invited into our community. It's a very simple checklist - but it's still quite a challenging find!
Sustainability is our priority - we love the earth and it's people.
Durable, comfortable, breathable, recyclable,
ethical, & STYLISH!
We're not into ripping people off.
We are good, honest, Kiwis - we'll look after you!
When it comes to fabric, MyBohemeDream has searched long and far to find the highest quality, most environmentally friendly options to suit your Bohemian tastes. We do not endorse fabrics which are non-recyclable. Comfort, style, breathability and and eco-friendliness are all essential ingredients to ensure we are meeting the needs of our Bohemian Dreamers, and also the needs of the world we live in.
Meet your new favorite sustainable staple! Tencel™ is loved for its silky-smooth feel and eco-friendly roots, and it’s surprisingly easy to care for. To keep that signature "peach-skin" softness, we recommend a cool, gentle machine wash or a quick hand-wash with a mild detergent—just be sure to skip the bleach and softeners to keep the fibers strong. While Tencel™ is durable, it prefers to skip the dryer; instead, air-dry in the shade to prevent any unwanted shrinkage. For a crisp finish, use a low-heat iron or a handheld steamer while the fabric is still a little damp. Simply store your pieces in a cool, dry place to keep them looking and feeling effortless for years to come.
Treat your linen with a little love and it will only get better with time! For a fresh feel, machine wash on a gentle, cool cycle (up to 40°C) with a mild liquid detergent—just be sure to skip the bleach and softeners so the natural fibers can breathe. We recommend air drying in the shade to keep colors vibrant, but if you’re in a rush, a low tumble dry works too—just pull it out while it’s still a bit damp to keep things soft. You can iron on a medium-high steam setting while damp for a crisp finish, or simply embrace those beautiful, lived-in wrinkles that make linen so unique. Between wears, keep it happy in a cool, dry spot inside a breathable bag, and always blot spills quickly to keep it looking its best.
Your silk is a natural wonder—breathable, temperature-regulating, and incredibly soft against your skin. To keep its luxurious glow and strength for years to come, we recommend dry cleaning for best results. If you’re washing at home, a gentle hand-wash in cold water with a pH-neutral silk detergent is the way to go; just remember to skip the dryer and air-dry in the shade instead. To smooth out any wrinkles, a quick steam or a low-heat iron on the reverse side while damp will do the trick. Between wears, let your silk breathe in a cool, dark spot inside a cotton garment bag, and always blot spills gently rather than rubbing to protect those delicate fibers.
Wool is a natural wonder—it's breathable, odor-resistant, and built to last, so it actually loves being washed less! To keep your favorite pieces in perfect shape, we recommend airing them out or using a bit of steam to refresh the fibers between wears. When it’s time for a deep clean, hand-wash in cool water (around 30°C) with a dedicated wool detergent, or use a gentle wool cycle in a mesh bag. Whatever you do, skip the dryer to avoid shrinkage; instead, gently reshape your garment while damp and lay it flat on a towel in the shade. Store your woolies folded in a cool, dry spot with a cedar or lavender sachet to keep them safe, and always blot spills immediately rather than rubbing to protect that cozy texture.
Cotton is a natural favorite for a reason—it’s breathable, soft, and built for everyday comfort. To keep your pieces looking fresh and prevent shrinking, wash them inside out in cold or lukewarm water (30°C) with a mild detergent. We recommend skipping the bleach and softeners to keep the fibers strong and absorbent. For the best results, line dry in the shade to protect the colors, or tumble dry on low and remove while slightly damp to keep wrinkles at bay. A quick iron on a medium-high setting while the fabric is damp will have it looking crisp in no time. Store your cotton in a cool, ventilated spot—folding knits to keep their shape—and always blot spills quickly to keep stains from setting!
With a little love, leather will only grow more beautiful with time.
Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth after each use. For deeper cleaning, use a leather-specific cleaner and conditioner every 3–6 months to keep the leather supple and prevent drying or cracking. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, heat, or moisture.
Store in a cool, dry place inside a breathable bag or pillowcase. Avoid plastic, which can trap moisture and damage the leather.
Avoid overfilling, sharp objects against the leather surface, and prolonged contact with dark or dyed fabrics that may transfer colour. Blot spills immediately rather than rubbing to prevent staining.
